IPL 2025 Replacement Rules Explained

Konstas cannot play in IPL 2025. He was not on the players list for the auction. According to IPL rules, only players from the auction list can be named as replacements. 

The replacements can only be players who registered for the last IPL Auction and did not sell. No player outside this auction can join any team as a replacement. If a team has no spots for overseas players, they cannot sign an overseas replacement for an Indian player.

Konstas did not register for the IPL 2025 auction. Therefore, no team can sign Sam as a replacement if there is an injury. 

Konstas was a key player on Australia’s winning U19 World Cup team in 2024. His strong performance has earned him a Test call-up. Fans may have to wait to see him in IPL games, but the future looks bright for this young talent.
